What is content marketing?Powerful Content Marketing

How we view and consume content is constantly changing, however, some brands have stood the test of time. Companies like Apple, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, have lasted all this time and have evolved the way they market.

Content marketing is a powerful tactic where it can define the growth of your business. The whole idea of content marketing is to draw in new or existing customers to buy what you are selling; creating powerful content marketing will make into an unstoppable force!

Examples of Powerful Content Marketing

Coca Cola

Coca Cola is one of the largest company in the carbonated soft drink industry or CSD. It owns over 500 brands with 21 generating $1 billion yearly. In 2011 they launched their “Share a Coke” campaign in Australia and sold over 250 million named coke cans.

The campaign involved taking 150 most popular names in Australia and selling them as per usual. The population in Australia is 23 million, so that means that they sold at least 10 cans to every person in Australia!

As a result, it soon rolled out the campaign to other locations, and now you can even customize your own bottle.

Go Pro

GoPro manufacturers action cameras that are widely used in several motorsports and adventure sports. Go pro uses the idea of promoting their product through user-generated content. The company is associated with dangerous sports and activities which creates a user interest.

In 2018 GoPro started the campaign “Million Dollar Challenge”, as a way to create “the most epic highlight reel ever”. The company received more than 25,000 submissions, with 56 creators being selected to receive an equal cut of 1 million dollars. The challenge overall gained huge traction, with more than 3 million views on the highlight reel.

Grammarly

This is another product that is used to sell itself. Grammarly is a spelling, grammar, and plagiarism detector. The app can be an extension on a browser, or you can install it on any device.

The Grammarly app is simple and is used to teach users to become better writers by underlining words or phrases. As soon as you finish writing a reply to an email, or a comment on a website, Grammarly scans your sentences and makes sure everything is correct. If one of your words are underlined, it suggests different words or clarifies the issue.

This solved problems that its users might have and sells itself as it is free to use. However, the paid version offers more in-depth problem solving such as grammar and using emotive words and sentences.

This type of content marketing is very subtle but in the long run and is very Powerful Content Marketing.

Online Content Marketing

Good content marketing is bound to attract more customers or meet your marketing goals.

Online content marketing is the primary way of reaching users, this can be done through blog posts, video, email, visual content, infographics, podcasts, eBooks, webinars, and social media. However, I would say that having a good social media presence is the first step to creating powerful content marketing.

Good content marketing also takes time, effort, and a whole lot of strategic planning. Online content marketing will drive traffic and brand awareness and overtime will highly benefit you.

Offline Content Marketing

All content marketing in one way or another lead to online content marketing, but offline content marketing can make your users feel more exclusive. More often, brands forget that content marketing is not just done on the internet and that there are other ways of marketing offline.

A great offline content marketing strategy is direct mail. Direct mail is a great way to connect with past customers, with not too many companies attempting this method, this is a great way to stand out from the crowd.

How to create your content marketing strategy

The first step in creating powerful content marketing is the strategy.

The strategy first starts with what goals you want to achieve and how you will implement them. There are many goals you can set, these may involve improving brand awareness, increasing revenue, boosting brand loyalty, crafting customer engagement, or even attract partners.

Once you find out your goal, you should set Key Performance Indicators or KPI’s to track your actual performance against your goal.

The next step is finding the answer to your audience and what they are looking for.

Some questions to ask yourself:

  • What problems are you looking to solve?
  • How can they use your product or service to solve a problem?
  • Why would they need something from you?
  • Where is your target audience spending their time?

These questions will help you decide what content to create to attract your desired audience. Once you have an idea of what content to use this data to find out what platform is right for you.

Conclusion

In conclusion, powerful content marketing takes time and effort, but it will greatly increase traffic, revenue or any goals that you have set out.

We live in a world that is constantly changing the way we view and consume data, so its best to stay on top of your methods and strategies. Powerful content marketing starts with a goal, you make a plan around your goal and implement it into your brand or business.
